1. Why we publish this statement
Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires organisations with a turnover of £36 million or more to publish an annual statement. Our turnover is well below that threshold, so we are not legally required to do so. We publish this statement voluntarily, because our clients, including public bodies, expect their suppliers to take modern slavery seriously, and so do we.
2. Our business and supply chain
We are a micro business based in London. We provide digital marketing (SEO, websites, social media, content, reviews and AI-assisted marketing), and travel, tickets and hospitality services through Powerful Tickets. We are UK-based and our core team works remotely; some of the freelancers we work with are based overseas.
Our main suppliers are:
- Our specialist media partners for offline media (out-of-home, TV, radio, press and door drops), who in turn use media owners, printers and distributors.
- Travel and hospitality partners: ATOL-bonded tour operators, accommodation, venue and transport providers for Powerful Tickets.
- Freelancers (for example design, video or copywriting) where a project needs them.
- Technology providers: software, cloud hosting, advertising platforms and AI tools.
3. Where the risks are
We judge the risk of modern slavery in our own operations to be low: we are a small, UK-based, professional team. The higher-risk areas are further down our supply chain:
- Print and door-drop distribution (manual and agency labour, leaflet distribution).
- Hospitality, hotels and events (cleaning, catering, security and seasonal labour, including overseas).
- Manufactured goods such as merchandise and IT hardware.
- Outsourced digital work (for example low-cost content or data labelling) offered through online marketplaces.
4. What we do
- Policy. This statement and our policies set out our zero-tolerance approach to slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking.
- Due diligence before we engage a partner. We ask key partners to confirm in writing that they comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, pay at least the legal minimum wage, check right to work, and apply the same standards to their own suppliers.
- Contracts. We are adding modern slavery and anti-trafficking obligations to our partner agreements, including the right to ask for evidence and the right to end the arrangement if a breach is found.
- Buying responsibly. We do not push partners for prices or lead times that could only be met by exploiting workers. We aim to pay our suppliers promptly.
- Travel and hospitality. We work with established, licensed operators and ask about their labour standards for the hotels and venues they use.
- Freelancers. We pay freelancers fairly and directly, and we do not use anonymous low-cost labour marketplaces for client work.
- Our own people. Within our own business, everyone is paid at least the London Living Wage, will have a written contract or agreement setting out their terms, and can raise concerns without fear of being treated badly.
5. Reporting concerns
Anyone can report a concern to Andrew Todd (CEO) at info@powerfuldigitalmarketing.com, marking your message “Private”. Concerns can also be reported confidentially to the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700. Where someone is in immediate danger, call 999. We will co-operate fully with the police and the authorities.
6. Training
Everyone who works on our contracts reads this statement at induction and completes modern slavery awareness training within 90 days of joining.
7. Measuring progress: what we will do this year
| Action | Target |
|---|---|
| Written modern slavery confirmation from key partners (our specialist media partners and travel partners) | 100% of key partners by the end of this financial year (30 March 2027) |
| Modern slavery clause in all new partner agreements | 100% |
| Staff and freelancers trained within 90 days of joining | 100% |
| Concerns reported and how they were handled | Reported annually |
This is our first statement. We will report progress against each of these actions, including the number of any concerns raised and how they were handled, in our next statement.
8. Approval
This statement was approved by the director of The Powerful Group Limited.
Signed: Andrew Todd, Chief Executive Officer and Director. Date: October 2026.
